Two road construction projects on U.S. Highway 69 between Ankeny and Ames will require road closures and detours beginning Monday, May 4. The first project, from Ken Maril Road in Ames to Iowa Highway 210, is a resurfacing project. The contractor will work on the Iowa 210 to Huxley piece first. The detour will use Story County Roads E-63 and R-38, and Iowa 210. The contractor will then move to the Ken Maril Road (Ames) to 310th Lane (Huxley) portion. This portion of U.S. 69 will be closed and a detour in place from approximately May 26 until Aug. 21. The detour will use U.S. 30, Interstate Highway 35, and Iowa 210. In addition, U.S. 69 in Huxley will be milled and resurfaced. Read more
