Downtown bridge closings
The Walnut Street bridge over the Des Moines River has been closed, and city crews plan to shut down the bridges on Grand Avenue, Locust Street and Court Avenue by 6 p.m. The river is expected to rise dramatically overnight, and city crews will seal the bridges at each end to guard against flooding.
