After less than a year in business, Lurra Cocina, the Spanish restaurant at 1420 Locust St., shuttered its doors abruptly Saturday night, reports The Des Moines Register. A sign on the front door  of the restaurant stated, “Unfortunately, Lurra Cocina will not be open this evening, Saturday, June 18, due to an unforeseen emergency. We apologize for any inconvenience.” A new concept is expected to take over the location in mid-July, Josh Van Ryswyk said in an email, but he would not elaborate.
