Last year, 48 food pantries were registered to provide farmers the authorized receipts they need to claim the credit, and 14 claimants returned receipts by a Jan. 15 deadline. The Farm to Food Tax Donation Credit provides a 15 percent credit, up to $5,000, for food donations. The Drake University Agricultural Law Center has prepared a set of documents designed to help producers and food organizations understand and utilize the Farm to Food Donation Tax Credit. The documents are available here.
