Drake raises $150 million in The Ones campaign’s first year
Drake University announced this week that its capital campaign known as The Ones has raised $150 million toward its $225 million goal in the campaign’s first year. The campaign is scheduled to conclude in October 2024, according to a news release. Some of the newly announced major gifts include $1 million from the Principal Financial Group Foundation and $500,000 from Wells Fargo to the Drake Small Business Clinic to formalize the partnership between the clinic and the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families. Dr. Richard Deming also made a gift to establish the Deming Initiative: A Path to Joy through Social Impact at Drake, which will offer grants for students and faculty whose projects advance social change and create a path to joy for those impacted by the work, the release said.
