The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau has named Mark Kostek vice president of sports and development at the Des Moines Area Sports Commission, effective March 7. Kostek has been with Drake University since September 2000 and has served as director of the Drake Relays. Before moving to Des Moines in 2000, Kostek spent 20 years as track and field coordinator at the University of Nebraska.
