Hansen Real Estate Services has been notified by the Iowa Economic Development Authority that it will receive $3 million in federal disaster recovery funds for its 120-unit Eagle View Lofts apartment project, Hansen Real Estate Services President Troy Hansen said.

The development that had been largely dormant after IEDA initially denied the funding in January.

At that time, Hansen said the federal funds were essential part of the financing for the project, planned for a site near Southeast Sixth Street and the Des Moines River.

In March, IEDA awarded $1 million in state workforce housing tax credits. However, that amount was not enough to convince the developer that they could proceed with the project. Read a related story
