East Court Avenue will lose some lanes under redesign plan
Axios Des Moines: Des Moines’ East Court Avenue will be reconstructed from the Des Moines River to East 14th Street as part of a two-year, nearly $33 million project that starts next spring. There will be lane reductions and the speed limit will be permanently lowered by 5 mph in most sections. The city conducted a walkability study in 2016 that resulted in setting goals to make the city more pedestrian-friendly.
