Cedar Rapids City Manager Jeff Pomeranz said that as of Aug. 19, the city had hauled away 10,000 truckloads, or about 21,800 tons, of tree debris. Cedar Rapids Mayor Brad Hart said that 60,000 homes and businesses in the city sustained damage from the storm; more than 1,000 have been declared uninhabitable. In Marion, more than 90% of buildings sustained damage, with at least seven homes considered a total loss.
