Emcor buys Baker Electric

173 wordsAll Latest News, Retail and Business, Statewide NewsFortune 500 company Emcor Group, Inc. bought Des Moines-based Baker Electric Inc. for undisclosed terms. Baker was founded in 1946 and is a hallmark business in Des Moines, focusing on electrical contracting, network cabling, underground installations and traffic signalization.
The company also has worked on energy audits, conservation and lighting retrofits. Mike Parry, president and CEO of Emcor Construction Services, said in a statement that Emcor “is very excited about the synergies, capabilities, and customer relationships that Baker Electric brings to the organization.”
Baker employs an average of 350, its website reports. The company will be part of Emcor’s U.S. Construction Services operations. Emcor is based in Norwalk, Conn. Britt Baker, CEO of Baker Electric, said in a statement, “Emcor’s strength and resources will allow Baker Electric to continue to provide outstanding electrical services to the company’s loyal and valued customers, and stable and attractive employment opportunities for our employees, for many years to come.”
Emcor expects 2019 revenues of $8.4 billion.
BCC Advisers of Des Moines assisted Baker Electric with the transaction.
