After nearly three years of building the organization alongside members and its board, Emily Steele, founder of FemCity Des Moines, recently announced she will transition out as organization president by January 2020. Until then, FemCity Des Moines will search for a new president among its membership. “I knew this day would come eventually,” Steele said in an email to FemCity members. “As a creative, serial-entrepreneur, my passion is to help mobilize brands and take them from nothing to something big. It’s time for me to do that with a couple other businesses and projects to help Des Moines reach new levels.” Steele is also the co-founder of Brand Launch and Pop Up Yoga DSM.
