According to the report, compiled by the IDED during the 2006-07 legislative session at the request of Sen. Joe Bolkcom, awards of nearly $368 million to build 45 new ethanol plants and $55.1 million for 19 biodiesel plants accounted for nearly 69 percent of all tax credits awarded between July 2003 and February 2007.

Collectively, the bioenegy projects resulted in more than $6.1 billion in capital investments in the state during that same period and created 1,814 new jobs.
