Five central Iowa organizations and their leaders will be recognized for exemplary environmentally sustainable practices during the 2015 Environmental Impact Awards ceremony on May 20. The winners are: Business: Beckley Automotive Services; Government: City of West Des Moines; Non-governmental Organization: Drake University; Commercial Construction: Shive-Hattery Inc.; Residential Construction: Silent Rivers Design + Build. The awards are sponsored by the Center On Sustainable Communities, Des Moines Water Works, Metro Waste Authority and the Greater Des Moines Partnership. The luncheon will be held at Windsor Heights Community Center. Tickets are $25 per person and registration is available online until May 15.
