Ethanol producers see futures fall
U.S. ethanol producers are bearish on the market for biofuels as U.S. ethanol hit the lowest level in more than a decade, Reuters reported. The trade war with China and federal policies that ethanol producers claim are tilted to oil producers are to blame for the pessimism. The ethanol business had grown quickly for years, but no more. The fourth-biggest ethanol producer in the country, Green Plains Inc., reported a net loss of $12.5 million in the third quarter.
