Facebook’s Altoona data center awards $100,000 in grants

100 wordsAll Latest News, Education, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipFacebook Inc.’s Altoona data center has awarded just over $100,000 to 13 nonprofits and schools in the area. Recipients included the Altoona and Pleasant Hill public libraries, which which will hold STEM programs for the Southeast Polk school district; Bondurant Development – Arts & Recreation; Bondurant-Farrar High School; Bondurant-Farrar Middle School; ChildServe Inc.; Class Act Productions; Community Youth Concepts; Four Mile Elementary School; Iowa Public Television; Mitchellville Elementary; Pursuit of Innovation; Spring Creek Middle School; and Train to Inspire. The grants were generally for between $5,000 and $10,000 and paid for special programs or equipment. Read details of each grant.
