Fareway considering meat market in Beaverdale neighborhood

102 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentFareway Stores Inc., the Boone-based grocery chain known for its low prices and customer service, is making plans to open a meat market in a west-side Des Moines neighborhood, according to minutes of the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association’s July meeting. The Fareway Meat Market, which typically offers a fresh meat counter, sushi, dairy products, wine, craft beer and other products, would be 7,400 square feet and include at least 30 parking spaces, according to the meeting minutes. In July, Fareway paid U.S. Bank National Association $350,000 for property at 2716 and 2718 Beaver Ave. Fareway officials did not respond to requests for comment.
