Volunteers from Fareway helped pack 2,000 meal kits at the Food Bank of Iowa on Wednesday to help Iowans facing food insecurity. They were joined by the Murphy Family Foundation, which donated $100,000 to the food bank, where the volunteers boxed up meal kits for a spring or Easter dinner that included a ham, potatoes, canned fruit, canned green beans, Jell-O, Bisquick and brownie or cookie mix. Remaining money from the donation allowed the food bank to order an additional eight to 12 pallets of canned fruit, green beans, Bisquick and potatoes for food pantries in food banks 55-county network. Photo: Reynolds Cramer, CEO of Fareway Meat & Grocery, sorts canned green beans that were included in boxed food kits as part of a partnership with the Murphy Family Foundation and Food Bank of Iowa to provide ingredients for spring or Easter meals to Iowans experiencing food insecurity.
