Fareway Stores Inc. has opened a Fareway Meat Market and McGonigle’s Kitchen + Catering BBQ in Kansas City, Mo., the Boone-based grocery chain announced. Missouri is the sixth state in which Fareway has operations. The chain also has stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. In February, Fareway announced it had bought the assets of McGonigle’s. The new Fareway Meat Market offers a full-service meat counter, with expanded seafood, artisan cheeses, high-end wine and spirits, and craft beer offerings. The store also offers prepared foods and catering under the McGonigle’s name.
