FEC working to reduce fatty acids in ethanol
Des Moines-based FEC Solutions announced today that it is working on developing and commercializing a system to reduce the amount of fatty acids and moisture in ethanol.
Once developed, the system, called Corn Oil ONE, will reduce free fatty acids and moisture in ethanol to less than 1 percent, according to a release.
FEC predicts that 80 percent of ethanol plants will be extracting corn oil from distillers dried grain by the end of the year.
