A federal appeals court upheld Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules on industrial greenhouse gas emissions.

The court ruled that the Clean Air Act gives the EPA the right to enforce rules on carbon dioxide and methane emissions.

Several companies, business groups and the states of Texas and Virginia sued the EPA, saying the agency was using biased information and challenging the EPA’s arguments that emissions are pollutants.
