The Iowa Quality Center will recognize Firestone Farm Tires, a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations for achieving Silver-level recognition as part of its Iowa Recognition of Performance Excellence program for the second time. Firestone Farm Tires became the first U.S. tire manufacturing facility to receive Silver-level recognition in 2013. The company also received a Bronze award in 2012. Firestone Farm Tires employs 1,684 people in Des Moines and Ankeny. Gov. Terry Branstad will present the award during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. April 2 at The Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona.
