First woman enlists as Iowa Guard combat engineer
WHO-TV: A University of Iowa student is breaking gender barriers in the Iowa National Guard. Megan Reaska, 20, in December became the first female to enlist in the Iowa Guard as a combat engineer. The position was recently opened to women following the Secretary of Defense’s decision to open combat positions to female soldiers.
