Harry Stine, founder of Stine Seed, is the richest resident in Iowa, according to a Forbes magazine analysis of the richest residents in every state. Stine, who was listed as having a net worth of $3.4 billion, earned his wealth by licensing corn and soybean seed genetics to multinational firms like Monsanto and Syngenta. Stine came in at No. 33 overall on the Forbes list.
