Forgivable loan could keep Life Care Services at Capital Square
The Des Moines City Council will vote today on a $196,000 forgivable economic development loan aimed to keep Life Care Services LLC in its offices at Capital Square and allow it to expand at that location. Under the agreement, Life Care Services would receive $146,000 in five installments, providing it maintains 146 full-time equivalent jobs, with an additional $50,000 guaranteed if it hires 50 new employees. If Life Care Services buys 122 parking passes at the Fourth Street and Grand Avenue parking garage, the city will give it 13 access cards to the garage for free.
