The Grinnell College Board of Trustees have elected former Drake University President David Maxwell to serve as board chairman, the board announced today. Maxwell is a 1966 Grinnell graduate, and was president and professor of literature at Drake University for 16 years until his retirement in 2015. He became a senior fellow and senior consultant at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. Maxwell joined Grinnell College’s Board of Trustees in 2016.
