Fort Madison Siemens plant picked for Kansas wind project

Burlington Hawk Eye: Siemens Gamesa plans to rehire more than 100 employees at its plant in Fort Madison to meet increased demand for its wind turbines. Siemens Gamesa said it has been selected to build 98 blades for a new wind farm project in Kansas. In January, about 195 employees were laid off, leaving about 330 people working at the 11-year-old plant.
