Four more bird flu cases suspected
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship reported that that four more suspected cases of bird flu have been found in commercial poultry farms in Buena Vista and Kossuth counties. The state already was investigating eight other cases in Iowa. The chickens and turkeys involved will be killed and either burned, composted or buried. Environmental officials reported that the death of hundreds of waterfowl along the Mississippi River was not related to bird flu and most likely was caused by a parasite.
