FuseDSM, an affiliate chamber of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, is holding its first Remake Program event on Jan. 30, featuring a panel discussion with leaders from Central Iowa’s transportation manufacturing sector. In 2023, FuseDSM, along with its Maker Council, launched MakeDSM, a network of manufacturers who meet to learn about resources and share best practices, according to a news release. The panelists for the event are Troy Wirtz, director of aftermarket sales at Dee Zee Manufacturing; Joseph Greenley, vice president of engineering at SEA Electric; and Mark Smith, chief operating officer of Almaco. Topics will include Iowa’s low manufacturing segment unemployment rate and associated challenges, ways to achieve consistent expansion in transportation manufacturing-related segments and how to create sustainable growth in the manufacturing and distribution sector.
