Future World of Work Summit announces keynote speakers

The second annual Future World of Work Summit is scheduled for Oct. 5 at the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Conference and Learning Center at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. According to a press release, the summit will highlight ways employers and educators can adapt and thrive in the work and learning ecosystems of tomorrow. Josh Wright, executive vice president of the community division at Lightcast, will provide the first keynote speech on developing talent while facing a pool of fewer workers. Christopher Porter, the director of the artificial intelligence program and associate professor of computer science at Drake University, and Chris Snider, an associate professor who teaches social media and digital media courses at Drake, will give the second keynote speech titled, “Finding the Fulcrum: Leveraging AI to Balance Efficiency and Responsibility.” The summit will also include panel discussions on the future of higher education moderated by Jenae Sikkink, senior vice president of talent development at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and business and education partnerships moderated by Beth Townsend, executive director of Iowa Workforce Development.
