Gas prices tumble in Iowa, especially in Des Moines metro area

81 wordsAll Latest News, Energy & Environment, Iowa NewsDes Moines Register: The average price of a gallon of unleaded gas in Iowa dropped to $3.775 on Thursday — slightly below the midpoint between its all-time high of $4.761 on June 15 and the price a year ago: $3.004. The average was even lower in the Des Moines area at $3.58, according to AAA’s gas prices website. That was the lowest for any metro area in the state. Only Missouri, at $3.765, had a lower average price than Iowa’s.
