Net sales were up 2 percent to $4.2 billion. North America retail sales were up 1 percent. The improvement in North America was driven by a 7 percent sales increase in cereal and a 5 percent increase in snacks. General Mills operates its largest cereal and fruit snacks plant in Cedar Rapids.
