The Genesis Youth Foundation and West Des Moines Community Schools will partner to offer a new after-school program at Indian Hills Junior High School for culturally and linguistically diverse students. The partnership is supported by a $19,000 grant from United Way of Central Iowa to improve the attendance and academic performance of immigrant and refugee students who may face challenges establishing a new home in the U.S. The program offers tutoring, computer-assisted learning, enrichment activities and field trips.
