The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines has made improvements to the  GIVEdsm.org website to meet increased demand for support and services because of the coronavirus pandemic. According to a news release, the foundation hopes that by enhancing the website, it can make more connections between community members and nonprofits in need of support. GIVEdsm.org, launched in 2018, is a one-stop shop where people can learn about opportunities to give back in the Des Moines area. It serves as a platform for nonprofits to list current projects while allowing community members to filter projects by category. Changes to the website include a redesign to simplify search functions; individual pages for each project where donors can learn more and see how much has already been raised; and the ability to use a credit card to donate. According to the release, the improvements come as the number of visitors to the site have doubled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
