GlobalVetLINK receives ‘significant’ growth capital infusion
Ames-based GlobalVetLINK on Thursday announced a “significant investment” from Lead Edge Capital, a New York City-based firm that invests in growth-stage internet and software companies, Clay & MIlk reported. GlobalvetLINK Sales and Marketing Director Brian Steffen said the company plans to use the investment to double its employee base, primarily in its product management and product development areas. Steffen said the amount of the investment is being kept confidential. It’s the first animal health-related investment by Lead Edge Capital, which will hold three seats on GlobalVetLINK’s board of directors. Launched in 2001, the company is a national leader in electronic animal records, with over 173 million animals transported within the United States using its digital certificates.
