Google sued in overtime pay dispute
A Nebraska woman says in a federal lawsuit that Google Inc. and two other companies owe her for overtime hours she worked as a facilities coordinator at the Internet behemoth’s Council Bluffs data center.
Michele Peterson said she was required to work 50- to 60-hour weeks, six days a week after being hired by Google in 2008.
The lawsuit said that at the time of her termination in February, she had not been paid for any of the overtime hours she worked. The lawsuit also names Google vendors Mainelli Mechanical Contractors Inc. and Eurest Services Inc. as defendants.
