It’s the first of six bridges that will be replaced, and traffic downtown is expected to be disrupted through about 2023. Motorists will need to shift to Court Avenue, Martin Luther King Parkway, Locust Street or the freeway to cross the river. The $10.5 million project to replace the Grand Avenue span, downtown’s busiest, is part of a broader $38 million bridge replacement plan aided with a federal grant.
