U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley blasted congressional leaders and real estate lobbyists Thursday for inducing a vote to extend a controversial immigration program known as EB-5 without enacting changes Grassley said would cut down on fraud, corruption and terrorism threats, The Des Moines Register reported. Supporters of a convention center hotel in downtown Des Moines plan to use $20 million in EB-5 investments for the project.
