Greater Des Moines house sales increased slightly last month to 1,530 from 1,498 in May, though the numbers were down from 1,737 in May 2017. Brennan Buckley, president of the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors, said sales were affected by weather, an uptick in interest rates and limited supply of entry-level homes. Pending sales dropped to 1,430 in June from 1,546 in May. “These are against the backdrop of a strong local economy and job market, the real estate market continues to be strong in Central Iowa,” he said in a release. The median sale price crept up last month to $206,500 and increased 5.4 percent from June 2017. Houses that sold last month were on the market an average 51 days, down from 57 in May. Inventory increased to 3,521 from 3,417.
