A webinar addressing LGBTQ inclusion is scheduled for June 23 to provide participants the tools they need to learn about best practices their organizations can use to allow their LGBTQ employees to be their true selves in the workplace. The webinar, scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will be hosted by One Iowa and the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Participants will learn about LGBTQ identities, the difference between sex, gender and sexual orientation, and current LGBTQ issues. The information shared in the webinar will help attendees build on their inclusive language and help them become more well-versed with language, policies and strategies for LGBTQ inclusion. According to a news release, the work will help build an employee retention strategy that allows workers to be more productive and experience greater job satisfaction and commitment. “This event will provide employers with resources and discussions that will help them continue to build their relationships with their employees and understand the importance of creating an intentional approach to fulfilling the needs of their LGBTQ workforce,” said Marvin DeJear, senior vice president of talent development at the Partnership.
