Oakridge Neighborhood Services has received a $25,000 grant from GreenState Credit Union to help support its family and workforce programs. According to a news release, the grant will help provide education for residents and clients, including alternative financing options, pathways to homeownership, asset building and financial education. Oakridge Neighborhood provides housing, programs and services to help families succeed and be financially independent. Its neighborhood is one of the most culturally diverse in the community, with more than 72% being immigrants and refugees from more than 21 countries. Of the nearly 1,000 people who live on the Oakridge campus, 99% are low-income, with 52% being children.
