Two Grundy Center businesses have been named the winners of the America’s Small Business Development Center Iowa’s Small Business of the Month Award. The Landmark Bistro and 319 Decor & Design are the winners of the statewide award for November. The Landmark Bistro is owned by Jill Krausman,left, while 319 Decor & Design is owned by her daughter, Katie Lewis, below. The Landmark Bistro is a full-service restaurant, and Krausman frequently donates her time and money to local hospitals and schools, and works with a local theater company to provide discounts for her customers.Her restaurant has been on Travel Iowa’s 99 Counties, 99 Restaurants list, and Krausman was listed as one of the Iowa Restaurant Association’s 40 Women to Watch in the Hospitality Industry. Lewis opened her business after graduating from college in 2017. According to a news release, she also is actively involved in giving back to the community and is active in the Grundy Center Chamber-Main Street. America’s SBDC is an outreach program of Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business and the Office and Economic Development and Industry Relations.
