Des Moines Register: Farmland prices hit a new statewide high last week, with 78 acres in northeast Iowa selling for $22,600 an acre, a record set thanks in part to stronger corn and soybean prices so far this year. An investor purchased the land on Aug. 27. The sale price beats a 2012 record in Sioux County of $22,300 an acre, said Jim Rothermich, a vice president at Iowa Appraisal and Research Corp. in Des Moines. The average value of Iowa farmland was $7,559 an acre in 2020.
