Guidelines for web image ads

Web Ad Sizes/Description:
Ads on Community Calendar; News, This Week’s Issue, Archive Search, Stock, Video and Photo Gallery pages rotate in their ad spaces on the Home page.
Ads on Berko, Gitomer and McClellan pages rotate on the Columnists information page.
Web Ad Specifications:
Important: Price does not include cost of graphic art/production. Please provide your ads as web-ready art (E.g. no word docs, pdf files, etc.) If you are not sure whether your art is web-ready, you can E-mail it to your ad rep for review.
- All files must be less than 50 kb.
- All files must be submitted as a single file.
- All files must be 72 dpi, exactly matching the size specification of the ad space purchased.
- Static file formats accepted: JPEG, JPG or GIF
- All ads will be linked to a new window with the web address provided.
- No automatic URL class are allowed .
Animated Image Ads:
Animated .GIF and Flash animation ads are allowed. Files must follow the guidelines above as well as the following.
- Restrict the number of frames in animation to three or four.
- Strobing or distracting ads and flashing backgrounds are not allowed.
- Do not mimic computer functions.
- Don’t offer prices for clicks.
- Ad animation must be confined to the allotted as space.
Flash Ad Specification:
Flash is a plug-in web browsers that allows animation to be added to a web page. Flash ads must follow the same guidelines as all other image ads.
- Audio and visual effects are allowed, but only when initiated by the user. Once initiated, the user must have the ability to turn them off again.
- All Flash ads must use Flash versions 5-8.
- All Flash ads must be accompanied by both the SWF and FLA file
- Buttons must have the clickTAG expression in place of embedded URLs.

- Your ad code cannot make external server calls for additional Javascript or other functionality.
- The ad should direct users to a web page with the appropriate destination URL. It should not open the destination URL within the ad IFrame itself.
