Gusto Pizza Co. is closing its Waukee site, which has been open six years. Sunday is the restaurant’s final day open. The owners of the local restaurant chain plan to open El Guapo, a tequila and taco restaurant, in October at 8950 University Ave. Gusto co-owner Josh Holderness said in a news release: “We have enjoyed a successful six years at that location, but in that time, have seen the restaurant landscape change considerably. My partners and I felt that this was the right time to bring a new and original concept to the neighborhood.” Gusto Pizza Co. will continue to operate its three other locations: 1905 Ingersoll Ave., Des Moines; 2800 University Ave., West Des Moines; and 8705 Chambery Blvd., Johnston.
