Local sustainability authority Adam Hammes’ new book has won both an Independent Press Award and a National Indie Excellence Award. “Sustainable Business in Iowa: How Leading Companies Profit from Environmental and Social Responsibility” is about designing and starting profitable corporate sustainability programs. The book highlights work at 30 companies, including Barilla America, Frontier Co-op, Principal Financial Group, Sky Factory, Workiva, and West Liberty Foods. The volume has been used in classes at the University of Iowa, Central College, Grand View University, Southeastern Iowa Community College, Mount Mercy University, Morningside College, Buena Vista University and Simpson College.
