Midway through its 2.0 round of regional planning, Capital Crossroads is bringing in author Rich Harwood for a look at how communities can achieve bold projects. The Dec. 12 midpoint review will run 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free, but it’s a good idea to register because space is limited. An optional $11 lunch is available. Harwood’s book, “Stepping Forward,” examines how to use community as a catalyst. “Capital Crossroads is about coming together with a shared vision to propel our region forward and build upon the success we’ve enjoyed in the past,” said Kristi Knous, Capital Crossroads tri-chair and Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines president. “The concepts Rich Harwood has written and walked communities through is transforming the way communities and businesses come together to walk in lockstep down a new path.” Harwood is president and founder of the Harwood Institute, which supports individuals, organizations and communities working on change.
