Sharon Haselhoff (pictured), a businesswoman and Legacy of Heroines scholarship donor, was selected by the Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as the recipient of the 2018 Carrie Chapman Catt Public Engagement Award for her work in the area of civic and political engagement. The Carrie Chapman Catt Public Engagement Award is one of the highest awards given by the college, and recognizes an alum or friend of Legacy of Heroines who demonstrates exemplary performance at the local, state, national or international levels. Currently the general manager at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood, Haselhoff worked in various roles to engage the public in the political realm. The award will be presented during the Iowa State Alumni Association’s honors and awards ceremony on Oct. 26 at Benton Auditorium in the Scheman Building. The event is open to the public, and a dessert reception will follow the ceremony. To read more about Haselhoff and the award, click here.
