Jerry Rea, the superintendent of the Glenwood Resource Center, was notified in a letter Monday that he was being “discharged from employment” at the Iowa Department of Human Services. “This action is being taken as a result of a mounting list of disregard for policies and procedures,” according to the letter, which was signed by Rick Shults, who oversees the agency’s mental health and disability services division.
