Healthy Birth Day Inc. is hosting a virtual webinar and panel discussion about the state of Black maternal health. The free event will be held at noon on April 12, in conjunction with Black Maternal Health Week. Black birthing people in Iowa are six times as likely to die from childbirth than their white counterparts. Nationally, Black birthing people are three to four times more likely to die from childbirth. Throughout the webinar, panelists will explore the history of Black women in health care and discuss the current state of Black maternal health in the U.S., according to a release. More information and registration for the webinar can be found at this link.
