This year’s Accelerate DSM event on April 5 at the Science Center of Iowa will feature these speakers, along with roundtable and panel discussions:

• Brian Hemesath, managing director of the Global Insurance Accelerator, which supports startups. Hemesath is founder and co-founder of two businesses serving multiple industries.
• Tej Dhawan, chief data officer for Principal Financial Group. Dhawan has a background in small business ownership, startup advocacy, accelerator mentorship and research of data utilization to influence and adopt innovation.
• Andrew Kirpalani co-founder of Workhound. The company offers a system to help trucking companies engage and retain their drivers. Kirpalani has experience in development and product management work in employee engagement, aviation and the automotive aftermarket. He has run Startup Weekend Des Moines and helped with accelerators and incubators in various cities.
